I recently purchased a used 2017 Subaru Outback Limited via Car Concierge Pro. The experience was definitely a positive one overall. As someone who purchases a car once a decade or so, I simply do not trust dealerships. They have a variety of tactics to hide the truth about pricing and vehicle history to squeeze every penny from you. Services like Carvana and Carmax charge more for negotiation-free purchasing (shouldn't it be the other way around?) and up-sell you on warranties, Either way, you’re at a disadvantage. So I went looking for an alternative and ran across the concierge option. I chose Car Concierge Pro because pricing and payment are straightforward, and they're technologically more up to speed than their competitors. Everyone on the team assigned to me was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. My experience was more of a collaborative effort with quite a bit of back and forth around searching, researching, and negotiating. The team was with me every step of the way, handling all the legwork or providing guidance and assistance as necessary. You can be as hand-off or hands-on as you like. If you want to handle searching yourself and let them handle negotiations, you can do that too. Here are some helpful learnings if you decide to go the same route. 1) Try to research models and narrow down what you're after ahead of time. Best model years, common failures, expected repair costs (Consumer Reports, CoPilot, and ChatGPT were very helpful), regional pricing trends (see Auto Tempest). This isn't a requirement, but I personally found it to be helpful. Doing so will help your team hit the ground running and alleviate some stress for you early on. Of course, they’re there to help you dial in on your preferences as well. And keep in mind things may evolve and shift as part of the process. As an example, I focused on the 2019 and later model of Subaru Crosstrek PHEV initially before realizing battery replacement would be a huge hidden expense for very limited range. I discussed this with my team and we pivoted accordingly. 2) Keep your eye on the details. Dealerships might say one thing and do another, or they'll inflate the numbers in one area (like optional packages) to give the illusion of a deal. They might even take favorable photos to hide flaws (like a cracked front bumper on one of the listings I picked). Your team will be very vigilant for these tactics, but it doesn't hurt to be redundant if you're inclined to. For obvious reasons, dealerships do not like dealing with concierges, so they might try and sneak things past them if they realize who they’re dealing with. Your team will reiterate this before closing the deal and signing any papers. 3) Use Lemon Squad for pre-purchase inspections. Ordering an inspection from their site is dead simple, especially compared to their competitors. You'll get photos, video, diagnostic scans, a test drive, and a report, which you can share with your team or knowledgeable friends / family for feedback and use to negotiate further. Better pricing might be available via a local mechanic, but for remote inspections, Lemon Squad is the way to go. As of this writing, pricing starts at $220. You probably don't want to pay for more than two inspections (the money adds up quickly, obviously), so use them once you're ready to commit to a vehicle assuming everything looks good. 4) Use a reasonable search area and adjust accordingly. The wider the search area, the better range of pricing and deals. One caveat is that shipping can get pricey and cut into your savings the further out you go. My suggestion is to stick within a 1000 mile range initially. If you find a good deal on the edge of that range, it might be cheaper to fly out to pick up the car and drive it back. A 16 hour drive is much more doable than a 26 hour drive. All in all, I’ll be going this route again in the future when the time comes. The options + savings are better and it alleviates a notable degree of stress from a generally unpleasant experience. And I can’t recommend Neel and his team enough.

Nice introduction by Neel explaining the process. Worked mostly with Shainit who was very courteous and respectful. The service is more for the individual who does not locate their own vehicle on the side and feed them the discoveries as they work at their own pace as they are very busy. When occupied they often are unable to respond the same day by email… delayed response to emails or phone calls noted during busy times at the end of the month. Other times they are quite fast such a mid month. At the point of the actual negotiations, they do a great job with communicating. I had an incredible experience with Car Concierge Pro. Neel helped me every step of the way -- from arranging all appointments for the cars I wanted to test drive to locating the actual car I wanted and negotiating a fantastic deal for me. He proof-read all contracts and caught an "error" (perhaps conveniently buried by the dealership...?) which the dealership subsequently had to rectify. Even when the car dealership started being difficult at the time of signing, Neel continued to advise me until the very last moment when I walked out of the dealership, car keys in hand. Neel and his team are extremely knowledgable about all the ins and outs of car negotiations, they are responsive, and so extremely helpful with removing all the uncertainty and stress from the car buying experience, not to mention that they saved me a ton of money! I am able to write this review after a few months of working with Car Concierge Pro for buying a car and I am still very happy that I decided to work with them :). This speaks to the immense value that Neel and his team puts towards making the experience during and after the purchase seamless and enjoyable. I am thoroughly impressed with their model of service and its perfect execution. I was looking to buy a car for a long time and even had specific models/requirements in mind but due to COVID-19 circumstances and my work, never had time or energy to go through negotiations with dealers or finding the correct dealer. When I reached out to Car Concierge Pro, they surprised me with the efficiency and smoothness with which they helped me through the buying process. Once I stated my requirements, they provided me with a detailed list of recommendations on various aspects of buying plus navigated through a large number of dealers to find me the best base price. Once a dealer was decided, Neel and his team did some magic negotiations and what was left for me to do was to do a test drive and complete the paperwork at the dealer's shop - just 3-4 hrs work. While I was able to find the final price that is till date lower than what I have heard from any dealer or friends, what was more impressive was that Neel and his team were extremely accommodating of my scheduling constraints and worked with me at different times of day as needed. For anyone who is looking to buy a new or used car, I highly recommend Car Concierge Pro and I will leave with two anecdotes from my experience working with Neel and Car Concierge Pro that may help -- First, there was a time when we needed to have an urgent discussion about something related to the dealer/scheduling and Neel was with me on the phone all the time, while he was still recovering from severe post-vaccine side effects (Of course, I didn't know at the time 🙂 ) . They helped me locate a nearby vehicle (though they searched the entire US!) and negotiated it under MSRP and got additional amount off the dealership wasn't wanting to give. Made getting a vehicle easy and cheaper than I would have been able to do on my own!

Neel made buying a car easy. We have been putting it off for years because I get anxious around car sales people. I also don't like the phone calls and email follow up they do. Neel took care of everything at a distance, I showed up and did the test drives. No chit chat--no personal information given--just drove the car. It was heaven. Then the day of purchase it was all arranged and I just sat there and did work on my phone while the paperwork was being processed, and I did none of the negotiations, and he got $12,000 off of a new car, so that we walked out paying just $30,000 So that was quite a significant chunk off the price of a new car that he negotiated. He turned a stressful situation into something that was easy breezy and saved us tons of money. Do yourself a favor and pay his modest fee you will more than make up for it in time savings and his negotiating powers will get you a price that you would never get on your own. Highly Recommend. Now I am not fearful of getting a car with Neel there to protect me. Looking forward to getting another with his help.
